Zimmer, Inc. has its headquartes in downtown Warsaw.

Zimmer cuts 100 jobs in Warsaw

Zimmer Inc. has eliminated 100 employees in Warsaw as part of what the company refers to as "modest changes" in its operations worldwide.

Effective Thursday, those people no longer worked for the company, said Brad Bishop, director of public affairs.

The "realignment" affects fewer than 5 percent of its global workforce, the company said in a written statement.

Bishop said Zimmer anticipates maintaining or even increasing its net workforce in Warsaw and its other operations during 2009.

He said the cuts were across the board throughout the organization.
