One of the biggest surprises – and announcements – from Mayor Tom Henry’s State of the City address had little to do with city government at all.The Indiana Department of Transportation will close Indiana 427 about five miles northeast of U.S. 6 in DeKalb County to replace a culvert pipe and county tile.
Work is expected to start June 22 with the road reopened by June 26.
The official detour is U.S. 6 to Indiana 1; this adds 7.5 miles for through traffic.
The work schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.
