Details: Fremont Fire Department was dispatched to the above address reference a possible structure fire with fireworks going off inside the building. Moments later the Fremont Fire Department was provided with information stating it was a confirmed building fire with firework explosions coming from inside the building. Upon first fire units arrival heavy smoke and fire was coming from the structure. Firework embers were also being shot approximately 100 feet from the structure reaching the roadway and parked semis from neighboring truck stops. Assisting agencies were Angola FD, Orland FD, Steuben Township FD, Hamilton FD, Salem Center FD, Hudson FD, Metz FD, Ashley FD, Helmer FD, Montgomery FD, Lakeland FD, Northwest Township FD, Steuben Co EMA, Steuben Co EMS, Steuben Co Sheriff Dept, Indiana State Police, and the Town of Fremont water/street crews. Also assisting at the scene supplying meals and refreshments were Clay’s Restaurant, Baker Street Truck Stop, Red Arrow Restaurant, Shell Station, and the Fremont Village Foods.
