Members of the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force investigated an anonymous tip that someone was making meth in a shed near County Road 600 West and County Road 100 North.

Officers staked out the area and arrested two people on preliminary charges of manufacturing and dealing meth after the pair arrived at the shed and began making the drug, deputies said.

Jealousy cited in party stabbing

A man was arrested in Kosciusko County early Tuesday after police said he stabbed another man at a party.

Sheriff’s deputies said they learned of the stabbing after Zachary Taylor Smith, 19, of Mentone, was admitted to Kosciusko Community Hospital just before 4 a.m. Tuesday. The man underwent surgery for stab wounds to his forearm and right thigh that he suffered at a party in Claypool, deputies said.

No additional information was available on Smith’s condition.

Deputies arrested Andrew Runyon, 18, of Akron, Ind., on a preliminary aggravated battery charge. He was being held in lieu of $10,000 bail at the Kosciusko County Jail.

Deputies said Runyon attacked Smith after learning he was sending text messages at the party to Runyon’s ex-girlfriend.

Nude pics on cell lead to sex count

A Fort Wayne man faces a formal charge of criminal deviate conduct after police said they found nude photos and video of a woman on his cell phone.

Kevin William Smith, 19, of the 11700 block of Eagle Lake Court, was arrested and posted bail.

A 19-year-old woman contacted police in March after she woke up at a home after a party in northeast Allen County. At the home, she found a cell phone with what she believed were nude photos of her on it, court records filed Tuesday said.

The woman told police she does not remember the photos being taken and did not give consent.

Police removed a photo and video from the phone, determined Smith uses the phone, and confirmed the photos were of the victim, court documents said.
