Holiday closings

Because of the Fourth of July holiday Saturday, government offices are closed either Friday or July 6. Here is a rundown of the effect of the holiday on government offices and trash collection in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Federal district court and bankruptcy court are closed Friday, as are courts in Allen County. There will be no mail delivery, and post offices will be closed Saturday.

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles branches are open Friday and closed Saturday. State offices are closed Friday.

Trash collection by Waste Management and National Serv-All will be unaffected by the holiday.

In Fort Wayne, Citilink buses and access vans will not operate Saturday. Garbage and recycling pickup will be unaffected by the holiday.

County offices in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, Noble, Steuben, Wells and Whitley counties are closed Friday, as are municipal offices in Albion, Andrews, Angola, Ashley, Auburn, Avilla, Berne, Bluffton, Butler, Churubusco, Columbia City, Cromwell, Decatur, Fort Wayne, Garrett, Geneva, Grabill, Huntertown, Huntington, Kendallville, Leo-Cedarville, Ligonier, New Haven, North Webster, Orland, Ossian, Pierceton, Roanoke, Rome City, Silver Lake, South Whitley, Syracuse, Warren, Warsaw, Waterloo, Winona Lake and Woodburn. Muncipal offices in Hamilton are closed Thursday and Friday and municipal offices in Fremont and Markle are closed July 6.

In Kosciusko County, Friday’s trash route will be picked up by the city of Warsaw on Thursday and all other routes remain the same. Borden Waste-Away, Stafford’s Solid Waste and Stuckman Sanitation trash pickup will be unaffected by the holiday.

In Bluffton, city trash pickup will be unaffected by the holiday.

In Ohio, Werlor trash collection in Williams, Defiance and Paulding counties will be unaffected by the holiday.

County offices in Defiance, Paulding, Van Wert and Williams counties and municipal offices in Bryan, Convoy, Defiance, Delphos, Edgerton, Hicksville, Montpelier, Paulding, Stryker, Van Wert and West Unity will be closed Friday.
