A Fort Wayne man was critically wounded early Sunday when someone shot into his car on the citys southeast side, according to Fort Wayne police.
The man, whose name and age have not been released by police, was shot just after 5 a.m. Sunday near Robinwood Drive and Oxford Street, said officer Michael Joyner, Fort Wayne police spokesman.
Police say the wounded man drove off, crashing his car into a stone storefront outside Chosen Christian Beauty & Barber College, at 3927 S. Calhoun St., just south of Rudisill Boulevard. Officers and paramedics found the man there and took him to a hospital. The man was listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting, and police have not determined a motive, Joyner said.
The shooting remains under investigation.
More than 40 buckets with marijuana plants growing inside them were found early Sunday on farmland near Orland, according to Steuben County sheriffs deputies.
The plants, totaling 44, were discovered about 8:30 a.m. Sunday by an 11-year-old boy walking his dog. The boy found the plants near Orland Road and County Road 900 West in Orland, deputies said.
The 5-gallon buckets were along a wooded tree line near a swamp, and each of the plants was 3 to 4 feet tall. The plants were removed to be destroyed, deputies said.
No arrests have been made.
