Notification has been made to the next of kin of a young man who was shot and killed last week while visiting a home on the city's southeast side.Fireworks used by a resident of a northwest-side apartment complex ignited bushes near a building Monday evening, Fort Wayne firefighters said.
Firefighters responded to a report of a brush fire at 418 Wallen Hills Drive at about 7:30 p.m. and found bushes near a building on fire. Flames spread to the building.
The fire was extinguished as flames were working their way into the attic, firefighters said.
The apartment complex had moderate damage to the exterior and light smoke damage throughout.
