Juvenile group homes to close, county says

The Youth Services Center's two licensed group homes for juveniles will close Monday, the Allen County commissioners announced today.

The services at the Kryder House and Yoder House group homes is ending because the Indiana Department of Child Services and White's Residential and Family Services were unable to agree on a reimbursement rate for White's to operate the homes, the commissioners said in a statement.

The homes are serving five residents, and "it will be up to their probation officers and caseworkers to determine where those residents will go," said Christopher Dunn, executive director of Youth Services Center, in the statement.

Fourteen county jobs will be lost because of the closings, the statement said.
