The July 19 Fort Wayne TinCaps game against Quad Cities has been moved to 6:05 p.m. to better coordinate with the Fort Wayne Newspapers Three Rivers Festival fireworks later that night, the Midwest League club announced Thursday.
The game, originally set for 5:05 p.m., is expected to end between 8:30 and 9 p.m., about an hour before the festival's finale begins, the TinCaps said in a statement.
Fans are invited to participate in the usual Sunday postgame events, such as player autographs and children running the bases, said Mike Nutter, team president, in the statement. He said the club expects to have live music in the center-field amphitheater between the end of the game and the start of the fireworks.
"Parkview Field is a great vantage point to watch the fireworks, and we are excited to have a game that coincided with the festival's finale," Nutter said.
Tickets currently printed for the game are valid for the new start time, the club said. It said the gates will open at 4:35 p.m., 90 minutes before the game, and only fans with a ticket to the game will be allowed inside.
