AT THE LIBRARY:

•The Hessen Cassel branch, 3030 E. Paulding Road, is featuring “Dance Day” during “Rainy Day Fun” at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

•Outstanding Ensemble Female Performance in a Play: Abigail Hobbs as Louise, the French maid, in “Private Lives.”

•Outstanding Juvenile Performance: Ethan Burk as Nathan Lukowski in “The Full Monty.”

•Outstanding Male Dancer: Brandon York in “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

•Outstanding Female Dancer: Heather Closson in “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

•Excellence in Technical Theatre: Emilie Crabb.

•Excellence in Volunteerism Award: The Glander family.

ARTS UNITED GRANT RECIPIENTS: The Neighborhood Grant Initiative gave a total of $25,000 to be awarded to to Whitley County Autumn Art Festival, Vincent Village, Mihsihkinaahkwa PowWow, Ole Olsen Memorial Theatre, Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation, The Honeywell Foundation, University of Saint Francis SOCA, Three Rivers Institute of Afrikan Art & Culture, Wells Corridor Business Association, Southwest Area Partnership/Packard Area Planning Alliance, Downtown Improvement District Inc., Four Presidents Corners Historical Society, Indiana Black Expo, Audiences Unlimited and Science Central.

CHORAL FESTIVAL: The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir will be participating in “Festival 500” on July 12 in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

DANCE CAMPS: The Northeast School of Dance, 6728 E. State Blvd., is offering dance camp sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first session runs from Tuesday to July 16. The second is from July 21 to 30. Each session is $80 a person. The pre-school sessions are on Mondays and Wednesdays. The first session runs from Monday to July 15. The second session is July 20 to 29. Each session is $40 a person. For information call 493-2804.

LOCAL ARTIST HONORED: Director and animator Paul Griswold was a special guest at the Canadian Film Centre’s Worldwide Short Film Festival. He directed the music video “Money,” by N.A.S.A., that was screened at the festival.

MUSICAL THEATER CLASS: Huntington University is offering a musical theater class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in the dance studio in the Merillat Complex for Physical Education and Recreation. The class is for ages 16 and older and begins Tuesday. The cost is $10 a class. For information, e-mail mduffer@huntington.edu.
