State health officials confirmed Thursday one more case of the H1N1 flu strain in Allen County, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the county to seven.
Outside Allen County, no other confirmed cases have been reported in the area.
Statewide, the Indiana State Department of Health reported 267 confirmed cases of the virus – also known as swine flu – in 16 counties, up from 223 confirmed cases in 14 counties a week ago.
In all, 34 of the reported cases in Indiana led to hospitalizations since April 20. But no deaths have been reported in the state from the virus, which because of its international spread was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on June 11.
