Fort Wayne driver hurt in DeKalb rollover

A Fort Wayne driver was injured at 11 p.m. Saturday when his 1998 Chevrolet Blazer left DeKalb County Road 39 and rolled over twice, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department.

Zachary Zuber, 18, of the 4600 block of Turbo Trail, was traveling south on Indiana 427 and approached the stop sign at the intersection of County Road 39 near Waterloo.

Zuber failed to stop and lost control of his vehicle because of speed and the left-hand turn onto County Road 39, the sheriff's department said. The Blazer entered the left ditch and struck a slight embankment. Zuber sharply corrected to the left and his vehicle slid across both lanes of County Road 39.

Zuber suffered a cut on his head and bruises to his face and legs He was taken to Parkview North Hospital by DeKalb County EMS.

Police said charges are pending against Zuber, operating while intoxicated, disregarding a stop sign and operating a vehicle without financial responsibility.

The sheriff's department was assisted by the Waterloo Police Department, DeKalb EMS and Noel's Wrecker Service.
