Two people have been arrested in Butler, accused in connection with a meth lab found Thursday within 1,000 feet of a school, Butler police said.
Officers converged on a house in the 300 block of Depot Street and found a meth lab there for the second time in a month, the department said in a statement issued Friday.
Maps show the house is near Butler Elementary School on South Broadway Street, but it is across the railroad tracks.
They said they arrested two people:
- Linda M. Barrington, who they said lives at the house, on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a park, school or youth center, possession of meth near a school, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.
- Harold A. Eldridge of Paulding, Ohio, on charges of possession of two or more items used to make meth with intent to make the illegal drug within 1,000 feet of a school.
More arrests are pending, police said.
The bond amounts and ages of the suspects were not immediately available.
Butler police were assisted by the DeKalb County Police Department, Indiana State Police and the state police Clandestine Lab Team.
