The rain didn't keep the pie-bakers and bidders away from the Allen County Fair on Wednesday. Fifteen pies were entered in the pie-judging contest. The winners are:

Single-Crust Pies (10 entries)

Champion - Leanne Koeneman of Churubusco for "Apple Bada-Bing Pie"

Reserve Champion - Sallie Corbat of Fort Wayne for "Summer Plum Tart"

Double-Crust Pies (3 entries):

Champion - Lorraine Warner of Huntertown for "Cherry Blueberry Pie"

Reserve Champion - Rita Griffith of Churubusco for "My Favorite Cherry Pie"

Lattice-Crust Pies (2 entries):

Champion - Mary Ashton of Huntertown for "Hoosier Berry Pie"

Reserve Champion - Ann Hoffman of New Haven for "Blackberry Pie"

Sixteen pies were auctioned by Curt German and Lowell Stahlhut, bringing in $355.50 to pay for building projects at the Allen County Fair.
