Ex-East Noble coach taking sabbatical

Former East Noble boys basketball coach Marty Johnson is taking a one-year leave of absence from his present position at Whiteland.

Johnson, who is 32-35 in three years at Whiteland (near Indianapolis), is taking some time off to help his daughter Morgan, who suffered a head injury while playing for the Whiteland girls basketball team. Johnson will be replaced, temporarily, by assistant coach Brandon Sorrell.

Johnson played in high school for Brandon's father, Mike, at Highland.

Johnson coached at East Noble for 21 years before being forced out.
