Two accused of making meth in Kendallville

Two Kendallville residents were arrested Wednesday evening and held without bail on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a school.

Steve A. Frain, 44, of the 300 block of East Gertrude Street, and Donna L. Frain, 46, of the same address, are being held in the Noble County Jail.

Officers from the Kendallville Police Department, Avilla Police Department and I.M.A.G.E. Drug Task Force went to the home about 7:55 p.m. to serve a search warrant, according to Kendallville Police. They found numerous items used in the manufacture of meth, an active meth lab, inactive reaction vessels and the drug itself.

The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team was called to process the scene, police said. The Kendallville Fire Department assisted officers because of the presence of an active meth lab.
