The TinCaps had their fifth capacity crowd of the 10-game homestand with the announced sellout of Thursday's game against the Lansing Lugnuts.
"The fan response during this homestand has been tremendous," TinCaps team president Mike Nutter said in a statement. "Tonight is a Thirsty Thursday with a post-game fireworks show, we’ll celebrate Fort Wayne being named an All-American City and Jake the Diamond Dog is here. It’s a big night and we’re thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful community gathering."
Tonight’s capacity crowd will also push the season attendance number over 300,000 for the year.
"We always encourage fans to purchase their tickets in advance," said Nutter. "There are still five firework shows remaining during the 2009 season, three more Thirsty Thursdays and plenty of opportunities for family entertainment at Parkview Field this year. We never want to turn away a fan that walks up to purchase a ticket, but tonight is an example of fans needing to purchase their tickets early."
Thursday's game wraps up the 10 games at home and the team will hit the road for eight straight games.
