Michigan strikes first

A pair of 10-yard penalties didn't keep Michigan out of the end zone.

Wolverines running back Brandon Minor capped a 9-play, 79-yard drive with a 2-yard scoring run for a 7-0 lead over Notre Dame at 4:12 in the first quarter.

Minor set up his short touchdown run with a 22-yard run to the right.

Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier completed a 40-yard pass to receiver Greg Matthews on the drive that took 3:46.
