Buckeyes grab early lead

Ohio State showed a strong running game in opening a 10-0 lead after the first quarter.

The Buckeyes had 100 rushing yards after their first two drives.

Brandon Saine had a 22-yard run in the opening drive, setting up a 46-yard field goal by Aaron Pettrey.

Saine had a 30-yard run in the Buckeyes next drive. Quarterback Terrelle Pryor completed a 15-yard pass on third-and-10 from IU's 35. Three plays later, Duron Carter caught a 9-yard pass from Pryor for a touchdown, extending Ohio State's lead to 10-0.

Indiana avoided falling further behind when Pettrey missed a 35-yard field goal with 42 seconds left in the quarter.

The Hoosiers offense had problems getting in gear, 14 yards before 32-yard completion from Chappell to Tandon Doss. The Buckeyes out-gained IU 156 to 49 in the first quarter.
