It’s not two left feet, but two fractured feet forcing Tom DeLay to hang up his dancing shoes.

The former House Republican Whip says he’s taking his doctor’s advice and leaving the ABC TV show “Dancing with the Stars.”

DeLay has been diagnosed with stress fractures in both feet from the rigors of dancing and must wear foot braces when away from the ballroom.

Doctors and producers urged the 62-year-old to withdraw from the dance-off.

Rock sued

A filmmaker is suing Chris Rock for at least $5 million and trying to block the release of his upcoming documentary “Good Hair.”

Regina Kimbell sued Rock and several film companies in federal court in Los Angeles on Monday, claiming Rock’s project is a copycat of her film, “My Nappy Roots.”

“Good Hair” will be released in certain cities Friday and nationwide Oct. 23.

FBI investigated Smith

The FBI investigated whether Anna Nicole Smith plotted to kill her tycoon husband’s son as they battled for his father’s fortune, newly released files show, but the former Playboy Playmate who died in 2007 was never prosecuted.

Smith’s FBI records, obtained exclusively by The Associated Press, say the agency investigated Smith in 2000 and 2001 in a murder-for-hire plot targeting E. Pierce Marshall, who was at the center of a long legal fight to keep Smith from collecting his father’s oil wealth, valued in the hundreds of millions. The younger Marshall died three years ago of natural causes.

Star tours food banks

Nick Lachey has embarked on an 11-day tour of soup kitchens and food banks to encourage people to support them.

He began his tour, dubbed “Everybody Wins,” at the Freestore Foodbank in his hometown of Cincinnati on Monday. From there, he was traveling to Pittsburgh and then other cities.

Miss America works

Miss America traded in her crown and sash Wednesday for a T-shirt and sneakers as she wielded a paint roller on the walls of a home flooded by Hurricane Katrina.

“I came to work,” said Indiana’s Katie Stam, her hair pulled back in a ponytail as she painted.

Stam worked for about an hour alongside a dozen volunteers with the Lutheran ministry group Recovery Assistance Inc.
