A Kosciusko County man was being held without bond, accused of beating his wife and threatening to blow her head off with a gun.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a trailer in a rural area southeast of Warsaw shortly before 3:25 p.m. Monday on a report of domestic violence. A man answering the door at the residence, south of Sellers Lake in the 5900 block of South Monroe Street, told them he and his wife had been in bed.
Deputies checked the home but found no one. In the meantime, the sheriff’s department was informed that the wife was at her mother-in-law’s home, bleeding and having trouble breathing. She told police her husband covered her with a blanket and hit her with something hard, then put a gun to her temple. She told police he threatened to kill her and then put the gun under his chin and threatened to shoot himself.
Michael Ousley, 43, was charged with domestic battery, intimidation with force, possession of methamphetamine, dealing marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
In all, the sheriff’s department reports removing six guns and finding illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
They said the victim, who is 37, was checked by paramedics but refused to be taken to the hospital.
