Flu cancels YMCA's 'Halloween Howl'

The YMCA of Steuben County announced Friday it has decided to cancel its Halloween Howl scheduled for Monday because of the H1N1 flu virus.

"It is our responsibility to take safety precautions during this widespread outbreak of H1N1," said Jeff Peters, chief executive officer, in a written statement.

He said the YMCA regrets the decision but felt "we needed to take this action so we wouldn’t infect other people."
