A funeral service is 2 p.m. Sunday for Amy R. Meyer White in Burkhalter Auditorium at South Adams High School, with calling one hour prior.

Her obituary says family and friends will also be received from noon to 8 p.m. today at Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home in Berne.

A 1999 graduate of South Adams High School, Amy White, who had gone back to using her maiden name Meyer, had been an assistant coach for the girls softball team in 2002 and a junior varsity softball coach in 2003 and 2004. Most recently, she was assistant cross country coach at the high school.

She was also an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Saint Francis.

After high school, Amy Meyer played basketball at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, followed by Saint Francis.

She died Tuesday at age 28 after being shot at her in-law's home in Wells County. She was in the process of getting a divorce, and she was there to pick up her son.

Her husband, Tyler White, 27, has been charged with murder and his trial is scheduled for April. He told police his wife pointed a gun at him before he shot her.
