And while we're on the subject of NASCAR ...

More bad news Sunday for fans of suspense.

For a long time it looked as if someone might actually make a run at Jimmie Johnson; while the guy who's No. 2 in the points, Mark Martin, hung around the front, Johnson was puttering along back in 31st or so.

Of course, it didn't end that way. By the time Jamie McMurray took the checkers under yellow, Martin was spinning down the track on his roof, and Johnson had somehow worked his way all the back to sixth.

So with three races left, he's got a 187-point lead. Hand him the trophy.
