Floyd's role a mystery

Notre Dame receiver Michael Floyd is completely healed and ready to go, according to coach Charlie Weis.

Weis said the sophomore will not have to wear anything to protect his shoulder, but Weis said the best measure of how good Floyd can be the rest of the season is how he reacts to his first hit.

"You know, we wouldn't put him out there, and he wouldn't go out there if that's how he was going to think," Weis said. "I think that the biggest thing that he's going to have to happen is get tackled once. And he'll get hit in practice some, but, I doubt that we're going to try him out in practice and see how that shoulder feels getting tackled. I think we're going to have to wait to find that out, you know, as that happens in the game."

Weis said Floyd will not play every game, but for the extend the receiver, who was averaging 160 yards per game, will involved when he plays Saturday against Navy don't expect for any hints from Notre Dame's coaching staff.

"I have a good idea of how much he is going to get in, and Saturday, you will to," receivers coach Rob Ianello said.
