When Notre Dame center Eric Olsen was called for a second personal foul in last weekend's game against Washington State, he got an earful from coach Charlie Weis.

"He said something along the lines of, 'Eric that was rude and unnecessary and please don't let it happen again,' " Olsen said smiling when asked to give a PG-version of what Weis said to him. "I said, 'Yes, sir.' "

Olsen also gave an idea of how he acts in situations when Weis is letting him know he did something wrong in a game with, let's call it "great passion."

"I try to play dumb and act like I didn't know what the called me for," Olsen said. "You kind of see that in the NBC TV copy when they put it in slow motion and show exactly what I did. But I tried to play it off, and he saw right through it. He wasn't having that and kind of put me in my place a little bit. That's his job."

Jimmy Clausen was standing near Olsen and Weis during their exchange, and the quarterback had this to say about it.

"I was laughing deep down inside," Clausen said. "It was pretty funny. He tried to play it off, but Coach Weis was having none of that."
