Once upon a time, after all -- and not all that long ago -- Edgerrin James was one of the premier running backs in the NFL. Now he's a spare part.
At 31, he's the next thing to washed up, now that the Seahawks have released him. It's the second time he's been released by an NFL team in a year; the Cardinals cut him loose after last season, and he was unemployed and sitting by the phone when the Seahawks sccoped him in August.
Now he's on the street again. Just another four-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL rushing champion who can't find a job.
