Four children were removed from a rural Huntington County home Monday after police found a meth manufacturing operation, the sheriff’s department said.

Officers report seizing items used to make meth, including 70 HCI generators and three reaction vessels, that were strewn throughout the property and inside an attached garage in the 9700 block of West County Road 700 North.

The sheriff’s department said Shawn Prater, who lives at that address, has been making and using meth at his home since January.

He was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possessing meth and possessing precursors used to make meth, Huntington County Jail officials said.

Four children who lived at the home are now in the care of the Department of Child Services, the sheriff’s department said in a statement. Their ages were not immediately available.
