With junior quarterback Jimmy Clausen performing as well as he has this season, talk of him skipping his senior year to enter the NFL draft is becoming frequent.
Coach Charlie Weis has said multiple times that no decision has been made, and Clausen and him will not talk about it until December.
But Weis said there is a downside to the Clausen to the NFL talks.
"I think the only distraction is that everyone wants to give their prediction," Weis said. "Trust me, they don't know. Because I don't know. I would know long before they know.
Weis said he will use his resources in the NFL to help give Clausen all the information he can about the quarterback's draft prospects.
"If four weeks from now, knock on wood, he's lit it up and is voted the best player in college football, it's going to be a tough one," Weis said.
