General Motors Co. said it has narrowed down its list of candidates to handle advertising for Cadillac to six agencies, a month after announcing it was dumping the luxury brands longtime ad partner.
Cadillac spokesman Nick Twork declined to comment on whether the company has a deadline for making a final pick.
The agencies on the short list are: BBH in New York, DDB in Chicago, Gotham in New York, Richmond, Va.-based The Martin Agency, McKinney in Durham, N.C., and Publicis in New York.
Twork declined to say last week why GM has short-listed those firms.
GM announced in early October was ending its nine-year partnership with the boutique agency Modernista.
A recreational vehicle company says it is increasing production and has recalled or hired more than 200 workers in northern Indiana.
Middlebury-based Jayco Inc. said last week the additional work follows recent higher-than-anticipated orders that have led to its highest order backlog in more than two years.
Jayco is among several RV companies that have laid off thousands of workers since early last year in Elkhart County, which had a 15 percent unemployment rate in September.
