Purdue coach Danny Hope has talked often about delivering a special season in 2009.
But he hasnt defined just what that would entail.
Beating Ohio State and Michigan in the same season – and snapping streaks with both victories – would have to qualify.
The Boilermakers hadnt beaten both of the Big Ten powerhouse programs in the same season since 2000.
Its a legacy to leave, senior cornerback Brandon King said.
Fellow senior Mike Neal said, Its just beautiful. You win against two great teams in the same season, even though your season is going the way it is, its just great. Im just speechless.
And Purdue still has a chance to make the season even more meaningful.
Victories in its last two games against Michigan State and Indiana would make Purdue bowl-eligible.
(This) weekend is senior day, and this is a very, very special group of seniors, Hope said. Itll be an emotional game (this) weekend.
You wont have to ask me about a letdown after the big game up here in the Big House because its senior day, and we have a great group of seniors. Wed cut our arm off for those guys.
