Child molesting of girl, 9, alleged

An Allen County man faces four formal charges of child molesting accused of repeatedly abusing a girl, according to Allen Superior Court records filed Monday.

Jerry Love, 51, of Monroeville, was being held in lieu of $40,000 bail.

Police say thecrimes occurred between April and October against a 9-year-old girl.

Love contacted police wanting to confess to the crimes at the same time an officer was taking a report regarding allegations of child molestation against the same girl, documents state.

Love told police he would touch the girl inappropriately while she was asleep.

The girl told police she awoke during some of the incidents and that Love would tell her he was "tucking her in for the night," documents state.
