Wagon traps man, causes serious injuries

A wagon trapped a man in Wells County on Wednesday morning, leaving him in serious condition, police and hospital officials said.

A man identified as Frank Frayer was flown from 6120 W. County Road 700 South to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne shortly after 11 a.m., according to Indiana State Police and the Wells County Sheriff’s Department.

Frayer was in serious condition as of 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Hospital, said Geoff Thomas, hospital spokesman.

State police got the call shortly before 10:40 a.m., the Fort Wayne post confirmed.

The wagon might have been carrying a load of corn, according to early reports, but that has not been confirmed by police.

Frayer’s age and hometown were not immediately available.
