A Warsaw woman was seriously injured when her vehicle was T-boned in a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. 30 near Warsaw, the Kosciusko County FACT Team reported.

Beth A. Bumgardner, 47, was crossing the intersection at County Road 200 North shortly before 7:45 a.m. when her car was struck on the driver's side by a car driven by Scott A. Haines, 24, of Bourbon, police said.

Bumgardner was pinned inside until she was extricated by the Warsaw Fire Department, police said.

Haines told police he had been going east on U.S. 30 approaching the intersection and could not see the traffic light signal because the morning sun was blinding his view, according to a report from the sheriff's department.

It said Bumgardner was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and then immediately flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne in serious condition with internal, neck and head injuries. The hospital said she was in fair condition early this afternoon.

Haines was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital with shoulder injuries. His condition was not immediately available.
