It was cute. The first time

Denali gets comfortable.

At 65 pounds and 27 inches at the shoulder (nearly 6 feet on his hind legs), Denali is no lap dog.

I just wish he knew that.

My Siberian husky pup has discovered his favorite place to sit: my lap. If I sit on the floor to brush him, Denali will circle around and plop his behind on my legs. He will stay there for what seems like forever as I brush him and pet him. If I’m sitting on the couch, Denali tries to back himself onto my knee and rest his behind there.

It was kind of cute the first time. Almost like bouncing a smiling, giggling toddler on my lap. The second time it was funny. The 10th time, I wondered how long it would take my legs to go numb from the pressure of his joints on my joints.

Sure, I could push him away but he’s my baby and my baby apparently belongs on my lap.
