A man who prosecutors believe gave a sexually transmitted disease to a baby was back in jail for violating probation and failing to register as a sex offender, less than a month after he was released from prison.
Police said Bobby Joe Flores, 22, of the 600 block of Runnion Avenue, failed to notify authorities he was no longer living at his registered address. He is required to tell police he moved within three days of relocating, according to charges filed Thursday in Allen Superior Court.
Flores must register as a sex offender for the rest of his life after he pleaded guilty to molesting a 1-year-old girl and was sentenced in April to eight years, with six suspended.
He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge because prosecutors were not legally allowed to present a jury with information that the baby had contracted gonorrhea after Flores, who also had the infection, baby-sat her.
He was released Oct. 12 and rearrested Nov. 4 on an unrelated probation violation.
Flores was being held without bail.
Indiana inmates are given one day of credit for each day of good behavior in prison. They are also given credit for time served in county jails while awaiting the disposition of their cases.
