Notre Dame took a 47-16 lead over North Florida into halftime thanks to its three-point shooting.

The Irish hit 8 of 13 three-pointers in the first half, and they nearly made it through the opening 20 minutes without being called for a foul.

But Freshman Mike Broghammer was called for reaching in with five seconds remaining in the half.

The Irish started strong from three-point range against the Ospreys. Notre Dame hitting three of its first four three-pointers en route to a 13-5 at the first media timeout.

Only forward Luke Harangody missed a three-pointer as his shot fell short from the left corner. Harangody was blanketed by two defenders every time he got the ball down low and finished the first half with nine points.

Notre Dame guard Ben Hansbrough appeared to injure his left hand with 15:45 to play in the first half when he was fouled going for a layup.

The senior stayed on the bench getting attended to until 13:58 remained in the half, and he re-entered the game with 13:38 left in the half.

Whatever was bothering Hansbrough sure didn't seem to hinder him when he got back in the game. The guard knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to give Notre Dame a 21-5 lead with 12:44 to play in the half.
