Time issues

Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis did not hold his usual Sunday news conference after Saturday's loss to Pittsburgh.

On Tuesday, Weis assured everyone that the reason he didn't speak with the media Sunday was because the Irish got back to South Bend later then expected from Pittsburgh.

He also made sure to say it had nothing to do with him trying to get to Indianapolis to watch the Colts play the New England Patriots on Sunday night.

"It was a late night, and it was a late start," Weis said. "When we got back here we were scrambling. We needed Sunday to get things in order to get ready for Monday."

"It had nothing to do with the questions (about the program)," Weis added. "It had to do with we got back late, and we were way far behind."
