Attendance mark

Indiana football will average at least 40,000 fans for the first time since 1992. The Hoosiers are averaging 40,478. More than 40,000 tickets have already been sold for Saturday's game with Purdue. IU has sold an average of 10,184 student tickets. That marks an increase of 2,824 tickets from 2008. IU averaged 11,389 student tickets in 1992.

Student ticket capacity has been increased more than 50 percent for Saturday's game (from 8,100 to 12,500). IU athletic director Fred Glass said the student tickets are close to selling out the student section.
