A Markle man was critically injured Saturday when he fell from a tree stand while hunting, according to Indiana conservation officers.

Ronald Hostetter, 45, of Markle, was deer hunting in the 10700 block of County Road North 200 West in Markle on Saturday afternoon when the accident occurred. He was taken by helicopter to Parkview Hospital, where he remained in critical condition Monday.

Conservation officers say they do not know what caused the fall.
