Boiler Bits: Ryan Kerrigan

His teammates call him Superman already, so what could junior defensive end Ryan Kerrigan possibly want for a super power?

He answered that and other random questions this week.

If you had a super power, what would it be? If I had a super power, I would want to be able to become invisible whenever I'd wish. That'd be my super power.

What would you do with that? I guess sneak up on people. That's really all you could do, I guess. I guess that or super human strength.

A lot of people say you have that already. That'd probably be the ideal one, especially as a football player.

What was your favorite toy as a kid? I was a big fan of Tonka trucks. I don't know what it was about them, but I'd always be out in my sand box playing with those and having a great time with them.

What's a TV you can't miss? Either "SportsCenter" or "Family Guy." I'm a huge "Family Guy" fan. That's one of the funniest shows out.

That can be really offensive, but it can be really funny, too. It's a crude show, but at the same time, it's really funny and it's a very good show.

Would you be a good reality TV star? Do you have that personality for that? Probably not. I'm a simple guy. Not really. I think if our house had a reality show, it'd be a No. 1 hit. But I don't think me personally, I don't think I'd be much of a reality star.

Who else do you live with? We've got (Nick) Mondek, (Adam) Brockman, Joe Holland, Colton McKey, Jared Crank and (student manager) Will Thornburg. It's quite a big house. So there's definitely a lot going on there all the time.

Have you had any weird dreams lately? Not lately. I feel like I did. But not off the top of my head, I can't think of. I remember parts usually, and I usually struggle to remember the rest. I'm sitting there thinking, "What happened?"

What's your ideal job? For everyone football player, (the NFL) is it. But I'm looking to be a high school football coach and a math teacher when I'm done with football. That'd be my ideal job, maybe go back to my old high school (Muncie Central) and teach and coach there.

Are you definitely coming back to play at Purdue next year? Or are you going to try to jump to the NFL? I'm coming back. It's been a great year this year and it's been a lot of fun, and I'm not ready to leave yet. I'm going to be back.

What's your motivation in life? I'm a pretty religious guy, so I just want to try to live a Christ-like life and try to do what Jesus would do in most situations.

You're on a road trip and stop and get gas. What snacks do you buy? Some SunChips and some Reese's cups.

What are you drinking? A chocolate milk or a slushie. They're interchangeable.

What kind of slushie? A cherry. Can't go wrong with that.
