Lutheran Health

The network announced Tuesday that its five Allen County locations have lifted visitor restrictions based on recommendations from county health commissioner Dr. Deb McMahan.

Children will again be welcome to visit the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fort Wayne, The Orthopaedic Hospital, Dupont Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital and Lutheran Hospital.

It was unclear whether Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw and Bluffton Regional Medical Center would also lift their visitation restrictions.

The visitor policy prevented ages 18 and younger from visiting the hospitals in an effort to protect patients and staff from the flu.

Lutheran Hospital officials ask anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms not to visit the hospitals until their condition improves and they are fever-free for at least 24 hours without the help of medication.
