Hundreds of people lined up at stores in Fort Wayne and Noblesville on Thursday morning in hopes of meeting Sarah Palin.

About 700 people were already in line at 7:30 a.m. Thursday at a Meijer store in Fort Wayne where the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate was scheduled to sign copies of her bestseller, "Going Rogue," starting at noon.

She is expected to arrive just before noon at Meijer, 10301 Maysville Road, and sign autographs for three hours.

Those wanting a book signed must present a Meijer receipt for the book and receive a wristband. Only the first 1,000 people in line with wristbands are guaranteed an autograph.

If there is extra time, Palin will accommodate more people.

Meanwhile, about 1,000 were waiting at 7 a.m. at a Borders store in the Indianapolis suburb of Noblesville, where the former Alaska governor was expected about 6 p.m. The store planned to have fans line up after a security check about 5 p.m.

The first 1,000 people to buy copies of the book and line up at the stores were eligible for wristbands that entitled them to have Palin autograph their books,
