Fremont man charged with 6 molesting counts

A Fremont man was arrested Monday and charged with six counts of child molesting, Indiana State Police said.

Gordon R. Knight, 27, was being held in the Steuben County Jail while awaiting an initial court appearance, state police at Fort Wayne said in a statement.

Police said Knight was arrested without incident about 10 a.m. following a two-month investigation.

The investigation looked into allegations that Knight had molested two girls younger than 10 at a Fremont residence during the summer, the statement said.

It said state police worked with the county sheriff's department, the county Division of Family and Children and the county prosecutor's office to develop information leading to the charges.
