Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis declined to talk about an incident involving quarterback Jimmy Clausen outside a South Bend restaurant/bar.
The South Bend Tribune reported that Clausen was involved in an altercation outside C.J.'s Pub around 2 a.m. Sunday.
"We are talking about Stanford. You want to ask me a question about Stanford, I'm all ears," Weis said when asked about the incident.
Clausen's date was pushed by a man outside the bar after she and the quarterback went back inside to retrieve her purse, the Tribune reported. Quoting an unidentified university source speaking on the condition of anonymity, the newspaper said Clausen and the man exchanged words, then Clausen pushed the man, who punched Clausen in the eye.
The two wrestled on the ground for a few seconds before the fight was broken up, the Tribune reported.
Weis said Clausen would practice today and will start against Stanford when the Irish (6-5) travel to play the Cardinal (7-4) at 8 p.m. Saturday.
