It just goes from bad to worse for Notre Dame football. Now Jimmy Clausen's getting blindsided by his own fans.
It seems Clausen took a punch to the eye from some crazed Domehead Sunday morning outside a South Bend bar, where Clausen was hanging out with family and teammates. Apparently this guy took exception to the fact that Clausen (and Golden Tate) are two of the only reasons the Irish aren't worse than 6-5.
I know, that doesn't make sense. But what other conclusion can you draw, except that Charlie Weis wasn't around to punch so Clausen served as his stand-in?
Frankly, I was shocked. And no, not because a Notre Dame fan would behave in such a blatantly irrational manner.
I just had no idea Regis Philbin hung out at South Bend bars.
