Scratch-off pays $2 million for laid-off Bluffton winner

Brickley

A laid-off worker from Bluffton won $2 million from the Hoosier Lottery.

Mick Brickley, who was laid off from his production job at TI Automotive in June, bought his winning ticket at Pak-A-Sak on Main Street in Bluffton, according to lottery officials.

Officials said it was one of the biggest winning scratch-off tickets in Hoosier Lottery history.

Brickley plans to buy a house with his winnings and said it’s too early to determine what he’ll do with the rest.

“I just can’t believe it,” Brickley told lottery officials. “I always had my doubts about the lottery. I always said, ‘Why won’t it happen for me?’ It finally paid off.”

Brickley received his first payment Monday. The rest of the money will be paid out as an annuity in annual installments over 30 years.

Brickley claimed the second of two $2 million top prizes offered on the Hoosier Lottery scratch-off game, Casino Royale.
