“Saturday Night Live” has landed Taylor Lautner, of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” as a host. (Maybe there’ll be a cameo from rumored girlfriend and recent host Taylor Swift?)

Lautner joins recent soap star James Franco and Blake Lively (“Gossip Girl”) as hosts in December, TV’s “Access Hollywood” reports.

Rihanna will be the musical guest on Lively’s episode. Bon Jovi will join Lautner on the Dec. 12 installment. And Franco will star Dec. 19 with musical guest Muse.

‘Stars’ ratings slip

About 19.2 million people watched Donny Osmond win “Dancing With the Stars” – the smallest audience for the show’s finale since the first season.

This was the ninth edition of the contest, one of TV’s most popular shows. The Nielsen Co. says ratings were down this season, showing that viewers weren’t attached to the crop of contestants.

Osmond said the show was a highlight in a career of ups and downs. He competed during the show’s finale Tuesday against singer Mya and Kelly Osbourne, daughter of rock star Ozzy Osbourne.

Sade slates new CD

Sade is making music again. The soulful English group fronted by singer Sade Adu, 50, will release a new album Feb. 8, according to Epic Records.

“Soldier of Love” will be the group’s first studio album since 2000’s “Lovers Rock.” All five of Sade’s studio albums have landed in the Top 10 on the Billboard Top 200, selling more than 50 million copies worldwide.

MTV to shelve show?

A national Italian-American organization based in New Jersey says an MTV reality show that depicts Italian-American beachgoers as the “hottest, tannest, craziest Guidos” is offensive and should be scrapped before it airs.

UNICO National said that “Jersey Shore,” debuting Dec. 3, relies on crude stereotypes and highlights cursing, bad behavior and violence in depicting renters at a New Jersey beach house.

MTV spokeswoman Emily Yeomans says the show continues the channel’s history of documenting subcultures.

Meanwhile, a hero…

The New Jersey town where Richie Sambora grew up says Bon Jovi’s lead guitarist can come home whenever he wants.

Residents and officials gathered this week in Woodbridge to name a street in his honor. Sambora, 50, has launched a fundraising effort called “You Can Go Home” to benefit teen Kelly Mahon, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor two years ago.

Sambora also financed the new weight room at his alma mater, Woodbridge High School. The street leading to the school is now Richie Sambora Way.

Taj Mahal film set

Ben Kingsley, famous for his Oscar-winning portrayal of Indian independence hero Mohandas Gandhi, is reaching deeper into the country’s history with a role as the Mogul emperor who ordered the construction of the Taj Mahal.

Kingsley will star as Shah Jahan in “Taj,” 27 years after he starred in “Gandhi.” Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play Mumtaz Mahal in the $30 million production, set to film in mid-2010, SBK Pictures said.
