You know what's hysterical? That the Quad City Mallards passed on signing Justin Chwedoruk.
He just scored with a shot from the right circle, giving the Komets a 2-0 lead over the Port Huron Icehawks at Memorial Coliseum.
That gives him five goals and six points in six games with Fort Wayne. Not bad for a free-agent pickup, eh?
Also scoring was Lincoln Kaleigh Schrock. Not sure where the Komets would be without those two bringing so much energy to the team over the last two weeks.
- Richard Bruner and Ryan Yerrick, whose ownership of the Dayton Gems has come under fire this week, are in the stands.
- The referee, Bob Langdon, is the commissioner of the All-American Hockey League. Speaking of the AAHL, does anyone think that affiliation with the IHL is paying off in any respect?
