ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands – Freshman Skylar Diggins scored 16 points and the fifth-ranked Fighting Irish (6-0) beat its third ranked opponent in six games, knocking off No. 20 Oklahoma 81-71 on Saturday to win the Island Division of the Paradise Jam.

Oklahoma (4-2) led 51-48 with 12:53 left when the Fighting Irish locked down on defense, triggering a 20-0 run. The Sooners were 0-of-8 shooting and committed eight turnovers during the run.

“This is a confidence boost, and the good thing about it is, I thought we played really well for three days,” Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw said. “We had some slips, but the third game in three days, I thought we really came out and played hard.”

Brittany Mallory scored 15 for Notre Dame. Ashley Barlow had 12 and Lindsay Schrader 11. Danielle Robinson finished with 26 points to lead the Sooners.

No. 8 BAYLOR 89, LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 42: Brittney Griner had 14 points and 14 rebounds, and her five blocks keyed a stingy defense for the host Bears (5-1).

No. 9 XAVIER 71, MINNESOTA 56: April Phillips scored a career-high 19 points and sparked a second-half run to lift the 5-0 Musketeers to a win at the Junkanoo Jam in Freeport, Bahamas.

No. 13 TEXAS 70, RUTGERS 67: Kathleen Nash’s three-pointer with 1.7 seconds left lifted the Longhorns (4-2) to a victory at the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

No. 14 GEORGIA 84, SOUTHERN MISS 55: Jasmine James scored 24 points to lead the Bulldogs (5-0) to a win in the finals of the Lady Eagle Classic in Hattiesburg, Miss.

No. 15 DEPAUL 78, NORTHERN ILLINOIS 67: Felicia Chester scored 16 points to lead five players in double figures as the visiting Blue Demons (5-1) beat the Huskies for the 16th straight time.

TCU 74, No. 18 KANSAS 69: Emily Carter scored 16 points, Eboni Mangum added 14 as the Horned Frogs (4-2) pulled the upset in Freeport, Bahamas.

SOUTHERN CAL 64, No. 19 MISSISSIPPI STATE 60: Aarika Hughes scored 14 points and as the Trojans (3-3) earned their straight win over a ranked team in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

No. 21 VANDERBILT77, N.C. STATE 71: In Nashville, Tenn., Meredith Marsh hit her first five three-pointers and finished with 25 points to lead the Commodores (6-0) in the championship game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament.

No. 22 CALIFORNIA 78, SOUTHERN U. 47: DeNesha Stallworth scored 13 points and three teammates also hit double figures to lead the Bears (3-1) to a win in the Buckeye Classic in Columbus, Ohio.
